Lead TellerPlatte Valley Bank - Gering JOB SUMMARY: Schedules and oversees the work of all tellers to ensure efficient teller operations during business hours. Provide guidance to tellers in complex customer transactions, balancing daily settlements and meeting customer needs. Performs teller duties, and may handle collections, notes or exchanges. Train new tellers to assume window or drive-in paying and receiving duties. Ensure adequacy of currency and coin supply. RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide quality customer service to all customers and prospective customers. Each customer transaction should be perceived by each teller as an opportunity to promote and refer Platte Valley Bank products, services, and promotions.Communicate expectations to each teller. Monitor goals provide feedback to manager on teller performances for evaluations.Maintain basic knowledge of Platte Valley’s products, services and promotions in order to respond to customer inquiries and refer business.Responsible for processing daily transactions and for balancing teller cash drawer. Must perform all assigned duties in a professional, timely, accurate, efficient manner as outlined in the Teller Manual.Maintain knowledge of all Teller policies, practices and procedures. Attend all scheduled Teller meetings.Greet clients and prospective clients extending courtesy, kindness, and genuine interest.Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent.Three to five years’ experience in consumer banking or bank operations and supervisory experience preferred.Customer contact in a sales environment preferred.Effective oral and written communication skills (including telephone).Ability to operate typewriter or adding machine preferred. Teller machines/PC experience required. Fundamental mathematical ability.Cash handling experience preferred.General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling skills, team skills and time management.Demonstrated aptitude to handle sensitive operational transactions and customer relationships.Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information. Physical Requirements:Light Work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, fingering, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating and interacting with others.You should be capable of performing in a reasonable manner, with or without reasonable accommodation, the activities involved in this job.
